The shift was sparked by the Senate’s passage of Trump’s US$3.3 trillion tax and spending cut bill. In Asia, Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell on renewed tariff threats, while Singapore’s STI hit a new all-time high. Gold held firm above support ahead of key US jobs data.
