German inflation, US core PCE higher than expected, euro edges lower
Germany's CPI rose to 2.1%, up from 1.8% in June and above the market estimate of 2.0%. In the US, core PCE rose to 2.9%, up from 2.8% and matching the market estimate. Fed Governor Waller said he supports a quarter-point cut next month and even larger cuts if the US labor market continues to soften.
