In contrast, China and Hong Kong benchmark stock indices ended Monday, 15 January with losses; CSI 300 (-0.10%), and Hang Seng Index (-0.17%) as China's central bank, PBoC disappointed market participants by leaving one of its key benchmark interest rate, the 1-year MLF rate unchanged at 2.50% and negative newsflow out from a leading China Big Tech; Baidu's AI chat platform was alleged to have collaborated with the Chinese military, stoking fears of more geopolitical tension between US and China.
