Fed Member Says Policy Makers Support Strong Dollar

Dallas Federal Reserve President Richard Fisher said in a television interview that the Federal Reserve supports a strong US dollar and wants “to make sure that the dollar has its purchasing power”.

Fisher also said the decision to engage in further stimulus spending could be the “wrong medicine” for the economy.

“We’ll have a better chance of getting it right again if the people that are elected to Congress and the Senate would get their act together in terms of incentivizing businesses and getting fiscal control.”
