China and U.S. to hold trade talks in October-China

The China Commerce Ministry has announced that a new round of trade talks will be held in Washington D.C. in October.

The S&P e-mini futures are 0.70% higher, the Nikkei 2.20% higher and Australia’s ASX is 1.02% higher.

Gold has fallen o.50% to $1545.00 an ounce with both Brent crude and WTI making back early losses to be flat on the day.

On FX, the AUD and NZD dollars are 0.40% and 0.30% higher at 0.6820 and 0.6375 respectively. With a high beta to China trade, both would be expected to outperform.
