Europe and Greece Bailout Talks Falter

Greece was unable to reach a deal with the European Union to stay in an EU bailout program, the Eurogroup’s Jeroen Dijsselbloem said on Wednesday, noting talks will continue on Monday.

Futures and Treasury bond yields climbed earlier following a report that Greece and its creditors had reached an agreement in principle.

Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, who was expected to announce an overhaul of the country’s current bailout program, played down the outcome saying he believed a “healing deal” on Greece’s finances could be reached on Monday, according to Reuters.
