Greece’s central government posted a primary budget surplus of 1.05 billion euros ($1.44 billion) in the first four months of the year compared to a deficit of 306 million euros in the same period in 2013, Deputy Finance Minister Christos Staikouras said on Tuesday.
The figure topped an interim January-April surplus target of 742 million euros.
The central government excludes the budgets of social security organisations and local administrations.
