House Speaker Boehner Pressures Obama

Republican House Speaker John Boehner has issued a statement where he says it is his party who is waiting for the White House to identify the spending cuts needed to avoid the fiscal cliff.

House Speaker John Boehner accused President Barack Obama on Tuesday of dragging his feet in “fiscal cliff” negotiations, while Rep. Nancy Pelosi pressed for a vote on a tax increase for the wealthy.

“We’re still waiting for the White House to identify what spending cuts the president is willing to make as part of the balanced approach that he promised the American people,” Boehner told Congress. “Where are the president’s spending cuts?”

His comments sent markets lower.
