Aussie Dollar to Gain in 2011: RBS

Robert Sinche, global head of currency strategy at Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc’s RBS Securities unit, said in an interview today that the Australian dollar is set to make gains in the new year.

“We’ve had a very accommodative monetary posture around the world, that’s been good for risk appetite, and certainly the Australian dollar has been a big beneficiary,” Sinche said on Bloomberg Television. “It’s been good for growth and commodity prices and as long as those trends are in place, we think the Aussie dollar is the main beneficiary in the currency space.”
