China’s Manufacturing Rate Slows

China’s Purchasing Manager’s Index fell to 55.4 from 57 in March in a sign that efforts to reduce the rate of inflation have helped cool the economy. Earlier in the year, China’s government warned that the economy was expanding too quickly and implemented new rules around leverage and credit availability intended to ease rapidly expanding property values.
