UK Regulator Follows US Lead and Open Goldman Investigation

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) in London has launched an investigation into fraud allegations made against Goldman Sachs late last week by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

According to an FSA spokesperson, the “FSA is investigating the circumstances of this case and whether there are implications for the UK regulated entities of Goldman Sachs. If there are, we will take appropriate action.”

Markets fell on Friday immediately following the SEC’s announcement that it was investigating Goldman Sachs. Stock futures are down again Monday as investors sit on the sidelines anxiously waiting for more news.
