The US Consumer Price Index (CPI)  rose 0.2 percent in September with rising energy costs the primary factor for the increase. The modest increase in CPI suggests that inflation is not yet a concern and most economists expect that the Federal Reserve will leave interest rates unchanged at a record low of zero to 0.25 percent.
