UK Mortgage Lending Still on the Rise

Despite growing unemployment and a recent pronouncement by the Bank of England that the recession in the UK was deeper than originally believed, mortgage lending is still on the rise. Total lending in July came in at £16bn ($26.4bn) – a 26 percent increase over the previous month, but still more than a third lower than July 2008. More
